Accommodation

The Lodge is an authentic Venda village re-created by internationally renowned artist, Noria Mabasa. This artistic wonderland of sculpted walls, seating areas, figures and entrances breathes the mystical spirit of old Venda. Add the most delicious bath in Africa and superb catering to complete the experience.

Two luxury suites, Mwedzi and Duvha offer a romantic and secluded stay amongst the bush with private plunge pools and patio’s overlooking the animals grazing on the plains below. Hamasha Bush Camp nestles in a spectacular amphitheatre of high cliffs and mountains with magnificent views through the gorge.

Wildlife

Lesheba is a unique reserve with an abundance of wildlife, including white rhino, the rare brown hyena and the elusive leopard. Catch sight of the black eagles and Cape vultures gracing the skies and be treated to an Africa Eden experience as all animals gather on the vleis in the early mornings and evenings.

Culture and heritage

The Soutpansberg’s natural beauty is matched by the richness of the Venda culture. This inspired the establishment of a social responsability program to preserve traditions including wood carving, story telling and traditional healing. Visit the non-profit Centre of Indigenous Knowledge with workshops and promote these valuable cultural assets.
